Burrows Saint – Won the 2019 Irish National and second in the Bobby Chase on his last run. Should go well.
Magic Light – was second in the 2019 race. Moderate form since but clearly likes the National fences and stays very well.
Acapella Bourgeois – Was third behind Burrows Saint in the Irish National and beat that horse in the Bobby Joe Chase. Good chance.
Talkischeap – Won a valuable handicap over 3M 5F at Sandown in April 2019. Looks to have been trained specifically for this race.
Anibale Fly – Has been runner up in a Cheltenham Gold Cup and finished 4th and 5th in previous Grand National. Fitness could be a problem though.
Mister Malarky – Has run well in 3M handicaps this season, winning at Ascot and finishing third at Kempton. Given decent ground he could go well.
Kimberlite Candy – Has twice finished second in the Becher Chase over the National fences. Won at Warwick last season over 3M 5F
Any Second Now – Won the Kim Muir Chase at Cheltenham in March 2019 and has been trained with the National in mind since. Warmed up for this by winning a 2 mile race at Navan last month.
Lord Du Mesnil – is a sound stayer and stamina shouldn’t be a problem. Won the National Trial at Haydock gamely and was second in that race last year. Best form is in soft ground and was a bit disappointing the only time he raced over the National fences.
Potters Corner – Has won both the Welsh and Midlands National both in heavy ground.
Class Conti – Has been placed in some of the better Irish handicaps over 3 miles. Could be a stamina doubt over the National distance.
Discorama – Has been placed twice at the Cheltenham Festival, including a second in the 4 miler.
Cloth Cap – 3rd in the 2019 Scottish National and impressive winner of valuable 3.25 miles handicap at Newbury when jumped particularly well. Looks a worthy favourite.
