Bangor

2.55 Not an easy race to weigh up but Kauto Relko is narrowly preferred to Storming Gale and Basford Bob.

3.25 Global Power is back to the same mark as his 2nd at Chepstow last October and is a big price.

4.55 Lucky Landing can follow up his win at Market Rasen with Fishoutofwater and alternative at a bigger price.

Southwell

2.00 Seigneur des Bois comes from a stable that traditionally do well at this time of year and the rider can claim a useful 5 lbs.

Update

I didn’t have time to look at the 2.00 at Kempton last night but I am hoping that the Paul Nicholls trained  Dildar will oblige.

In the 2.40 at Chepstow Golden Chieftain could give the favourite Teaforthree a race.

Diary; February 25 2012

Chepstow

2.40 Course form at Chepstow is always worth noting and course and distance winner Teaforthree looks the likely winner despite a disappointing run in better company over Christmas. The form of his win at Chepstow has worked out well with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th all winning since. Golden Chieftain looks the danger with the stable running into good form.

3.45 Buffalo Bob was a lucky winner at Ayr last time but looks well handicapped.

Fairyhouse

2.25 Shadow Eile looked an exciting mare when winning at the start of the season and can take this if recapturing that form.

3.30 Prince de Beauchene won a valuable handicap at Aintree last April and then came 5th in the Troytown at Navan. The form of that race has worked out quite well.

4.05 Ninetyeth Minute hasn’t won since taking the Coral Cup in 2009 but he has the ability and would not have to improve much over fences to win here.

3.05 THE RACING POST CHASE

Planet of Sound was runner up in the Hennessy and has his favoured ground. He has tom be on any short list although his stable have been in the doldrums. Royal Charm could be a dark horse while Nacarat has a good record in the race. Hector’s Choice represents an age group with a good record in the race and he has been running well this season. For my selection I will stick with the Hennessy form and Planet of Sound.

4.10 Minella Class gave Peddler’s Cross a race at Bangor and was going well when unseating last time out.

4.45 Looking for something at a decent price here. The Reformer was a beaten favourite at Taunton but could be better than he showed that day while Ultravox is overpriced on his best form.

Newcastle

1.50 Dark Glacier has course and distance form.

3.25 Captain Americo ran well here in November in the Rehearsal Chase and showed he stays a trip when 4thy in the Border’s National at Kelso. He is a course winner and goes on the ground. Eyre Square won the Borders National and the ground should suit.

4.35 Frascati Park has won 3 of his last 4 starts and should be suited by the track.

Sandown

1.50 General Ting has dropped down the handicap and may well have reached a winnable mark. At around 9/1 he is a sporting bet.

2.35 Lively Baron should be suited by the conditions.

3.00 Keep Kicking can be given a chance on his bumper form.

Taunton

2.00 With some of Paul Nicholls horses running a little disappointingly the performance of Dualla Lord here will be interesting. With doubts about the stable form and also perhaps the shorter trip it makes sense to treat the race with caution.

3.40 Dare Me could be fancied on last season’s form but he is another from a stable not really firing.

Wetherby

2.10 It is hard to weigh up the form of Railway Dillon after his defeat of a 1/6 favourite in a 2 horse race. He was blinkered first time on that occasion though and if the headgear works again he could go well.

3.15 Strongbow’s Legend and Mac Aeda are my two against the field.

3.50 This looks to be between Destroyer Deployed and Volcan Legend. My slight preference is for the former.

Crowning Jewel is my best bet of the day – he runs in the 2.00 at Carlisle where Big Occasion looks the main danger.

There are a couple of others that might be worth looking at later on the card at Carlisle, Tenor Nivernais in 3.05 and Horsham Lad in the 3.40.[]==========
