Winning selections this season so far – 4
Newbury
2.30 Leo Luna has won over 3 miles over hurdles and off a mark of 76 looks potentially well treated here over a trip that should bring out the best of him.
3.05 Scotland won at Epsom on his second start last season. He is well bred and this should be his optimum trip. The ground is likely to suit. Double Bluff won at Goodwood on his second start last season before finishing 6th of 7 at Longchamp in a Group 3. Bred to get this trip and further.
Shankly won a maiden at Salisbury before disappointing when upped in class in France where the ground may not have suited him. Kempton winner Western Hymn is another to consider. Should be open to improvement.
Scotland is narrowly preferred over Western Hymn.
3.40 Another race where there are several to consider. Hors de Combat won a maiden at Kempton on his debut last season before finishing second in a conditions race when odds on. A promising sort. Muwaary won over course and distance on his only start last season and the form of the race has worked out well. Exchequer, the recent Lingfield winner is well handicapped here and on this occasion is taken to make race fitness count. The other two are worth noting for the future however..
4.45 Evita Peron could be the answer here.
5.15 Talmada lost her chance at the start on her only run lat season and can make amends.
5.45 Casual Smile, out of an Oaks winner, should appreciate this step up in trip.
