Diary: October 30 2010

I will start tonight’s bulletin at Ascot where Emma Lavelle’s Pause and Clause can get off the mark over fences in the 2.25. A winner over hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival he should have learned plenty from his chase debut at Market Rasen last month.

Recession Proof won for us at Carlisle the other week and I will stick with him in the 3.00. Get me out of here and Tocca Ferro look the main players in the 4.15. There is not much to choose between the pair.

Ayr is subject to a morning inspection and if it does go ahead the ground will be heavy. The 3.20 features 3 horses that have served us well this season in Royal Trooper, Royal Swain and Bollin Judith. Royal Swain should handle the ground and would be my slight preference over the other two. Bollin Judith has shown her best form on quick ground which is a concern. Lordship is my selection in the 5.00. He is a course winner, was second on his most recent start and has winning form on heavy ground.

At Newmarket I am hoping that Brick Red can bounce back from his disappointing effort last week. He runs in the 2.00 while I will have a few coins each way on Kingsfort in the 2.35. Shooting Gallery has an each way chance in the 3.45. The consistent Timepiece could be the answer in the 4.20 for Henry Cecil.

Over the jumps at Wetherby Duc de Regniere goes well fresh and will take some beating in the 2.50.

At Wolverhampton there are good reports about Green Apple who makes his racecourse debut in the 7.20.

My selections at Naas are 2.05 Shinrock Paddy; 3.05 Si C’etais Vrai.
