The main action tomorrow is on the flat at Newmarket. In the Cheveley Park Stakes at 2.30 Lady of the Desert looks to have the best form and is likely to prove difficult to beat. The main danger may come from the French challenger Special Duty who was second to Arcano at Deauville. In the Middle Park at 3.05 I will stick with Showcasing who was my tip when winning at York on his last start.
In the first race of the day at 1.25 I will take a chance with the Godolphin runner Sweet Sonnet who shaped well when second in a listed race at Salisbury and should appreciate the fast ground.
There are some interesting runners in the 3.40. Andrew Balding saddles Tartan Trip who showed signs of ability when 4th at York despite running green. Sir Michael Stoute saddles two. Mushreq should certainly come on for his 4th at Newmarket in August. Ryan Moore rides Total Command who is a full brother to Arabian Gulf. These 3 are all worth watching.
I thought about Chock A Block for the 4.15. He put up a more promising performance when 3rd to Twice Over at Doncaster. With only 3 career starts he may well have scope to improve.
I have been following Bab Al Salam this season and been rewarded with 3 wins in quick succession. There may well be more to come from him but I am going to look elsewhere for the winner of the 4.50 as I like the look of the Michael Jarvis trained Alainmaar. He was beaten by Stoic at Newmarket and that horse has gone on to score twice. Alainmaar then won in good style at Pontefract and his mark of 97 could well be lenient.
At Lingfield Jachol is due a win. He has been in the frame numerous times but remains a maiden. He surely has a race in him and looks to get off the mark in the 5.35.
Wolverhampton next and Galiotto is another one that is still a maiden despite several near misses. He tackles a longer trip tomorrow in the 6.50 which should suit him.
Charles Parnell should give us a run for our money in the 7.20 while Spate River is the selection in the 9.20.
