Diary: March 30 2007

The Elite Racing Club has enjoyed a successful jumps season with most of their winter team registering a win.  Inherent added to the club’s tally today winning over hurdles at Towcester this afternoon. A former4 bumper winner she tends to race a little keenly but hopefully will settle better when she gains’ more experience.

The turf flat season starts on Saturday so I am looking out for pointers from the all weather races this week. The latest to catch my eye was Captain Jacksparra a winner over 7 furlongs at Lingfield today.  He looked one to watch when 4th on his debut last year behind a horse called Ebn Reem and he is certainly one for the notebook.

Lord Henry was an impressive winner over fences in the summer.  He was useful over hurdles but always looked likely to make a better chaser.  He runs in the 2.55 at Ascot and should have conditions to suit.  Royal Shakespeare is the obvious danger.  He is the only runner from our list to follow tomorrow.
