Racing is rather in the shadow of the World Cup over the weekend and to be honest there is not a lot to get excited about.
There are not many runners from our list to follow. Nidhaal has a good chance on paper in the Cecil Frail, the Haydock 3.15. He won twice last season showing a decent turn of foot and has some entries in top races. The ratings service I subscribe to has him 3 lbs clear of the field.
I have been following 2 year old Winning Spirit who has his 3rd run in the 3.50. Form figures of 32 always worry me though, especially with BF against the last entry.
The sprinters on the list to follow have been doing OK. High Reach represents the list in the 2.20 at Goodwood. He should have conditions to suit. The other one I like in this is Firenze.
We should have the winner of the 3.30 as Stronghold and Mustashaar seem to have the race between them. They met at Lingfield in May when Stronghold came out of top. Mostashaar looked a little unlucky that day and may well be able to turn the tables.
In the 4.05 Cheap Street is bred to be a two year old. Stable have poor first time out record though.
Ceredig has been one of the more disappointing horses on the list to follow. Will need to improve on his two runs so far this season if he’s to figure in the 4.40.
Up at Musselburgh Harrison’s Flyer is one to note in the 3.10. Milton Bradley looks sure to get a win or two out of him this season. Keep backing him and wait for that big priced win!
We also have one runner in the 3.45 but Fullandby would be better over further and with some cut.
Ouninpohja won 5 times for us last term and I fancy him to open his account for the season in the 5.25.
In the 7.00 at Newbury I will be watching newcomers Indian Ink and Swiftly Addicted.
Likewise in the 6.15 at Wolverhampton Pineapple Poll is worth keeping a watch on. Related to a couple of winners.
Looking forward to Sunday, Mick Channon saddles Fly Time in the 2.10 at Bath. Finished 2nd on debut and then ran in a listed race. Dropped in class here and should go close.
