Not a bad haul on Friday with 4 winners from the list to follow, as well as a miscellaneous tip in Echelon and also a favourable mention for a 10/1 winner at Bath.
Our first runner on Derby day is Regal Royale in the 2.00 at Epsom. Regal Royale was a promising 2nd at Newmarket. Stepped up in trip today but is faced with a difficult draw. Stable bang in form though.
No shortage of old favourites contest the 3.30. Zowington represents the current list to follow but has a poor draw. Cape Royal is well drawn and there are worse outsider at 25/1.
And so to the Derby where there are 4 runners from the list to follow. Atlantic Waves has no stamina problems and will probably run his race but the bare form of his listed race win earlier in the season does not look strong enough. Dragon Dancer is still a maiden after 4 runs and it would be very unlikely for a Derby winner to come from such a background.
You ignore Ballydoyle at your peril and it has to be significant that Kieren Fallon has chosen Horatio Nelson to ride. My preference though is for Sir Percy who was finishing well in the 2,000 Guineas.
We have a couple of listers in the 5.05 with Consular and Glistening. Consular will appreciate the drying ground and is value at around 10/1. The lightly raced Glistening is another that prefers fast ground but trip may be on the sharp side.
K Fallon has been booked to ride Indian Trail in the 5.40. Trainer has won this race for the last 4 years.
Michael Jarvis had a winner for us with Hinterland on Friday and his Kerriemuir Lass at Chepstow in the 7.40.
Musselburg 2.20 – Gregoravitch is a course and distance winner and should have ground condition to suit.
At Southwell Liberate looks good for the 7.20. A typical Prescott 3 year old he won at Beverley earlier in the week despite a bad draw.
Turning to Sunday and Brighton there is an interesting little 2 year old race at 2.20. Bahama Mama won on her debut at Newmarket. Newcomer Daring You comes from a stable that has a good record with its first time our runners.
Alasoun represents the in form Sir Michael Stoute stable in the 3.50. Back Sunday evening.
