Cheltenham

2.00 Rendl Beach is unbeaten after 2 bumpers and a novice hurdles. The extra distance here should not be a problem and the stable are in form. He should go well but the price looks a bit skinny.

3.05 Paul Nicholls seems to have found a winning opportunity for Dodging Bullets.

4.20 I started with a short list of 3 for this, Handy Andy, Barlow and Captain Sunshine. The latter looks the best handicapped and he just gets the nod.

Kelso selections

2.05 One for Hocky

2.40 Sydney Paget

3.15 Lie Forrit

Cheltenham

2.10 Smart bumper performer The New One won well on his hurdles debut at Newton Abbot and represents a stable that inevitably has winners at this stage of the season.

2.45 Domtaline goes well fresh and runs here for the last time as a novice. King of the Night is highly rated and goes well on good ground.

3.20 Fox Appeal has a good engine and stays well. He has an each way chance here.

3.55 Tour des Champs won at Uttoxeter in May and the form has worked out well as the runner up has weon 3 times since.

4.30 Rysbrack won a Worcester bumper and has run well on the flat since. Population is another to consider.

There is an interesting novice chase at Huntingdon tomorrow, the 3.50. None can be safely ruled out with both Well Regarded and Tour D’Argent very much respected on their hurdles form. Hildisvini could be the value. He likes going right handed and the ground should also be about right for him.

Carlisle

2.45 Ballybough Pat won a bumper at Ffos Las last season and looks a good prospect for hurdles. He should handle the ground as he won a point to point on heavy.

5.00 Attaglance won over hurdles at both the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals and makes his chase debut here. He has yet to win on testing ground which may be a slight concern. Rival D’Estruval has experience over fences having finished 2nd at Ayr in April. Still a novice he looks sure to win over fences. Dark Glacier won twice over hurdles last season, besting Rival D’Estruval at Newcastle, and is another that should make a chaser. All 3 have the potential to make an impact over fences and a selection would be largely guesswork. Attaglance would be my choice if pushed.

5.30 Irish points winner Blackwater King looks an interesting recruit for Donald McCain.

Not much to get excited about at Ludlow. In the closing bumper at 5.10 Abruzzi, runner up at Fontwell, looks sure to go well.

Hazy Tom is an interesting recruit to chasing. He runs in the Towcester 2.50 where the stiff track should suit him. The ground is good to firm though which may not be ideal. At 6/4 he is probably not really value.

A quite day all in all.
