Sandown

2.10 The Hannon stable took this maiden last season and their entry Ivawood looks an interesting runner. The other one I like is Lady in White trained by Roger Varian. My selection is whichever one of these two starts at the shorter price.

3.15 Token of Love was well fancied when 2nd in a strong Newbury handicap last time and can go one better here.

York

2.30 I will take a chance with Indy here. He may be a little too high in the weights but his trainer places his horses well so fingers crossed.

Goodwood selections

7.25 Warrior of Light

8.00 Oasis Fantasy

8.35 Dreaming Beauty

Today’s selection was 2nd at 9/2.

Haydock

3.10 Beach Bar is very much feared in this as he looks potentially well handicapped. On an even better mark though is perhaps Baarez and he just gets the nod.

4.40 Magic Hurricane won at Kempton last month and is open to further improvement.

Kempton

8.20 The well bred Bold Lass comes from a stable running into some form. She was second at Leicester last month and can go one better here.

Yarmouth

4.00 Green Monkey has won at Yarmouth twice and he acts ell on firm ground.

5.00 Reaffirmed has the ability if he puts his best hoof forward!

Epsom

2.10 Tres Coronas has already done us a favour winning at Chester last month. He has since finished runner up at York. He runs well at tracks like Epsom but he has gone up in the weights. Hi There ran well here 2 runs ago and is ridden by Ryan Moore for the first time. Better with cut in the ground, like Tres Coronas he has an each way chance.

3.20 This looks an opportunity for the lightly raced Abseil.

4.00 The two market leaders will take some stopping here. Slight preference is for the unbeaten Taghrooda.

4.45 I will give Parbold one more chance on the basis that a first time hood will benefit him.

Goodwood

6.35 Richard Hannon has three runners in this maiden. The best of the trio could be Aledaid.

8.15 Muhawalah may be better than the bare form of his only start at Warwick.

Winners so far this season – 48

Nottingham

4.20 Available at around 10/1 Tea in Transvaal looks the value in this handicap. A mile is probably her best trip and the ground will not present a problem. Her handicap mark looks fair and she has won 1 and finished second when ridden by Richard Hughes. She was a little unlucky on her most recent outing when not getting a clear run.

4.50 Lucky Jim is named after a novel by Kingsley Amis. He is yet to get his head in front but tries 1.75 miles for the first time here and he has plenty of stamina in his pedigree. He has an each way chance.

Ripon

6.40 Marmalad showed enough promise on his debut at Haydock to give him a chance here.

8.10 Muthmir is open to plenty of improvement and comes from a stable bang in form. This looks our best bet on a tricky looking day.
