Expert Fighter has gone up 9lbs for a win over this distance at Newmarket but he is lightly raced and may have scope for further improvement. He acts on the ground. Fennell Bay won a big handicap at Ascot earlier in the year but may now be a little high in the weights. Silver Lime a winner at Goodwood last time out is unexposed and is one for the short list. With 2 wins from 5 starts Willie Wagtail is worth considering in what is a tricky contest and would be my selection.

3.40 Bated Breath is the form pick. The unbeaten Pearl Secret could be ideally suited by this race and is a potential danger.

4.15 Wentworth made a favourable impression on his debut at Goodwood.

There is racing at Pontefract today where the Sir Mark Prescott runner Solar View looks the one to beat in the 3.15. Petella is the danger.

In the 4.15 the Richard Fahey runners Warcrown and Dakota Canyon look the pair to concentrate on. Preference is for Dakota Canyon who was 5^th on his seasonal reappearance in a race where the 3rd and 4^th have since won. He should be fitter today and the extra distance should also be in his favour.
