Just an additional selection. Beau Mome in the 12.15 at Leopardstown
I am going to start my Boxing Day preview at Kempton. Hopefully we can get things off to a winning start in the opener at 12.50. My selection is Open Eagle trained by Willie Mullins. He won the November Handicap on the flat on heavy ground and has made a good start to his hurdling career by winning at Fairyhouse. He should have no problem with soft going.
1.25 Full Shift is a course winner and looks quite well handicapped. He has also won on soft ground. The other one I like is Sirabad.
2.00 I suggest backing a couple of horses in this race; Tea for Two and Native River.
2.35 Faugheen will be a short priced favourite and I am inclined to take a chance with The New One.
3.10 My preference here is for Don Cossack with the next best Smad Place.
3.45 Gunner Fifteen looks potentially well in and he should come on for his run at Haydock last month.
Fontwell selections
1.30 The Organist
2.40 Midnight Silver
3.15 Call the Detective
Huntingdon
12.45 His in form trainer describes Imada as “pure class.”
1.50 I will go for Polo Springs whose trainer/rider combination are in very good form.
Market Rasen
1.35 Dreams of Milan
Sedgefield
12.40 Bollin Ace
Wincanton
1.40 Buywise and Herbert Park
2.15 Southfield Vic
Leopardstown
2.55 Douvan
3.25 Bacardys
Lingfield
12.40 Dannvinnie looked an unlucky loser at Fontwell and can make amends here.
3.40 Little Acorn
Ascot
1.50 La Vaticane
2.25 Thistlecrack is narrowly preferred to Saphir du Rheu
3.35 Jolly’s Cracked It has a good record at Ascot and put in a promising performance when 3rd here last time out.
Ascot
12.20 Fly du Charmil and Semper Invicta look the pair to concentrate on.
1.55 I will stick with Yanworth here although the Nicholls runner could be a danger.
2.30 Le Mercurey looks a useful prospect over fences.
3.40 Quite a hot race this. My selection is Burlington Bert but there are plenty of dangers, notably Full Irish and Monbeg Charmer
Newbury
12.10 I will take a chance on Clan Des Obeaux, winner of a bumper in the French provinces.
1.15 Wait for Me looks a worthy favourite.
2.25 A case could be made for any of these 4. Arpege D’Alene could have more scope for improvement than his rivals.
Plumpton
12.10 Theo’s Charm
Doncaster 3.15 Sgt Reckless
