Chepstow

12.35 Ballybane was 4^th at Worcester back in October. Should handle give in the ground.

1.45 There are a number of runners with impressive form in previous runnings of this marathon. Benvolio was only beaten a short head last year. He has shown little since but he loves soft ground. Emperors Choice, last year’s winner stays all day and won at Haydock on his return this season. Mountainous won this back in 2013. He has not won since but looks well handicapped. Upswing and Cogry are others to consider. They were second and fourth respectively at Haydock in November.

Cogry and Upswing are my selections.

3.25 Otago Trail is in good form and will handle the ground.

At Naas I fancy the Mullins pair Shaneshill (1.20) and Bellshill (1.50) although both will be hot favourites. At a bigger price look out for Tudor City in the 2.50.

There is an interesting card at Plumpton with the Sussex National at 2.40 the best betting heat. Dawson City is my fancy for this. He stays well and acts with plenty of give in the ground. You could also try a small each way saver on Universal Soldier.
