Ffos Las

2.45 Viola da Gamba is still a maiden after 8 starts but put in a decent effort at Windsor last time and is related to 7 winners. Ground may be a concern.

Southwell

9.00 The recent course and distance winner Kung Hei Fat Choi can go in again under a penalty.

Yarmouth

5.50 Makafeh should benefit from his debut run at Newmarket.

8.20 Future Security showed promise as a juvenile and could well be the pick of these.

Newmarket

1.40 Jake’s Destiny is a tentative choice but he is not guaranteed to relish the ground.

3.20 Bated Breath is the obvious choice but I would also go for a small saver on Sirious Prospect who ran an encouraging race on his last start.

4.30 Kimberella won last time out over 6 furlongs and could well improve for this longer trip.

Newbury

4.20 Expense Claim is a bold sort that will give us a run for our money.

5.30 Handles for Forks stays well and is my selection in a trappy contest.

2.25 High Jinx

3.00 Kirthill

3.35 Ponty Acclaim

4.45 Jonny Delta

Chester

4.00 Montaser is a good looking sort and comes here on the back of a win at Haydock. He clearly prefers faster ground but he could still go well here for a jockey who rides the track particularly well. Gassin Golf stays well and under a positive ride could take some pegging back.

Newmarket

1.20 Roger Sez won a Group 3 at Ayr last season and has suffered ever since having to cope with a steep rise in the weights. She was 3rd at Warwick on her last run off her current mark and could be in the shake up here. Cardigan impressed when winning a Haydock maiden last season. She was then tailed off in the Coronation stakes at Royal Ascot. Having only run twice she is hard to weight up. Free Verse was a winner on soft ground over this trip last season but was well behind Roger Sez at Warwick. Tartiflette has been runner up 3 times this season and is proving tricky to win with. At the odds I will go with Tartiflette with a small each way saver on Roger Sez.

1.50 Rebellious Guest and Mince were the two I considered here. Mince each way would be my final answer.

3.00 There is a hot favourite here but it maybe worth trying Maybe each way!

3.35 There are good reports about No Jet Lag and he is a nice price.

4.10 Stencive is a scopey sort and can improve on his second spot at Ripon last time. The well related Keeping Time may well be capable of better than her debut run suggested.

5.30 Dakota Canyon won a Leicester maiden last season and is the type to do well in handicaps.

Sandown

1.30 Johnno has been running consistently and comes here on the back of a respectable 3rd at Newmarket. At 17/2 he has a good each way chance.

3.10 Lady’s First ran with great credit when 3rd at Ascot last time. A lightly raced type she looks value at 14/1.

3.45 Nathaniel and Bonfire are the two I like in the Coral Eclipse.

4.20 Glen’s Diamond was 2nd in the Yorkshire Cup and that run puts him in with a shout here.

4.55 My short list consists of Scrupul, Dandy and Oojooba. The latter probably has the best chance. Only beaten a neck here over a mile last time the extra distance should be in her favour.
