Remember

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Diary: March 26 2007

Our list to follow supplied 3 winners in Saturday. Karello Bay proved the best of our 3 runners in the mare’s novice hurdle final at Newbury, winning with something in hand.  Miss Mitch stayed on well in 2nd and she looks to have a future over fences.

Alderburn defied top weight to land the opener at the Berkshire track under Tony McCoy, having a little too much class for her rivals.  At Bangor-on-Dee Annie’s Answer won for the second time this season over hurdles with Tony Dobbin doing the steering.  The best of our other runners was Snap Tie who was second in the bumper under a penalty.

On the flat the giant Gentleman’s Deal took time off from his stud duties to land the valuable Winter Derby. Elsewhere on the Lingfield card King Orchisios notched his 4th career win.  He is one of those horses that always seems to win at a nice price. His 4 wins have come at 5/1, 9/1, 20/1 and 8/1.

There is nothing much that takes my eye about Monday’s racing.  I will be looking out for Sha Bihan in the 4.00 at Stratford.  He is owned by the Elite Racing Club (and therefore partly by me!)  He put up a good performance on his last run when 2nd at Newbury and runs off the same mark at Stratford.  I am hopeful of a good run.

That is about it for today.
