Well there is not much to be said the yesterday’s preview. I am afraid the horses on our list to follow are rather on the crest of a slump just at the moment.
If Fontwell goes ahead tomorrow there is an interesting little beginner’s chase at 1.50. I decided to retain Glasker Mill on my list to follow for a second season as he impressed me over hurdles last term. He looked the type to do better still over fences. He had a slight injury in the summer which is why he is making a rather belated seasonal debut. Caribou is the other from the list to follow. Caribou has done enough in his two runs over fences to suggest that he can take a hand in a contest like this. He won twice over hurdles on soft ground.
There are a couple of real dangers to our list horses. Desert Air represents the Pipe stable and Dancing Bay makes his chase bow for Nicky Henderson. This is a wide open contest and it rather depend on how well the newcomers take to fences. A race to watch and learn from.
Chopneyev has been in fine form since his return from injury. He is as tough as old boots and should again run a big race in the 1.40 at Warwick. Durante, trained by Jim Old is a horse I have always liked. He has had a recent run over hurdles that may have put him straight after a long absence. My worry would be his ability to handle the ground. Woodlands Genpower has been something of an underachiever over fences and there is always the possibility that he might get it right on the day. My selection though is Allsonsilver who likes the mud and left his recent form behind when 2nd at Warwick to Florida Dream last time.
Kayceecee represents our list to follow in the 2.40.
Bye for now.
